THIS is hardcore. Straight from NYC. Frontman Paul Bearer is one obnoxious bastard, which in my opinion usually makes for good hardcore. Around this time, Sheer Terror started adding a little more of a metal tinge to thier sound, not a bad thing, it still has that unmistakable NYHC thing going on.
