Before he sang in Black Sabbath and his solo band, Ronnie James Dio sang for Ritchie Blackmore of Deep Purple fame's side band Rainbow. I guess the name can be construed as kinda gay, but theres nothing gay going on here. Instead what you get is some bluesy awesome hard rock which definately helped lay down the foundation for the power metal genre.
